E Hayes hardware store hosts a museum dedicated to Burt Munro. Burt was an Invercargill native who broke (and still holds today) the land speed record for the under 1000cc motorcycle classification (184mph avg. speed). The movie, The World’s Fastest Indian, starring Anthony Hopkins, is a good watch!
