Sistine Chapel

*the first three pictures here are from Wikipedia as photography is not allowed in the Sistine Chapel * Next we visited the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. It took a long time to navigate through the museum with crowds of people. It was hard to appreciate the art that we passed. We spent quite a bit of time in the Sistine Chapel. We were able toto find some seats so Fran could do some art and Harvey and I listened to an audio guide about the chapel. Fun facts about the Sistine Chapel: The outside of the chapel is very plan, but the inside walks and ceiling are covered with magnificent frescos painted by Michelangelo and other artists. The ceiling frescoes took Michelangelo four years to complete. In total, they cover 12,000 square feet. He did not ulay down to paint, but built scaffolding. The art primarily depicts biblical scenes such as the creation and last judgment.
