Geysir

Iceland has a lot of geothermal activity. Geysir is one of the largest in the world, spouting water 200 feet into the air, although isn’t very active lately. This is were the term geyser comes from. Strokkur is active, spouting water every 5-10 minutes about 50 feet into the air. My hand almost froze off trying to get pictures of this one! It was so cold and windy out. Did you know Iceland is one of the windiest places on land in the world?
