Gamaksan Suspension Bridge (감악산 출렁다리)

We woke up early for a guided DMZ tour. Our first stop was the scenic Gamaksan Suspension Bridge. The better is 150 meters long, which makes is the longest tower-less suspension bridge in the county. The bridge is officially named The Gloucester Heroes Bridge in honor of the heroic achievement of the soldiers of the Gloucestershire Regiment who fought against the Chinese Communist Army during the Korean War in order to defend Seolmari to the last and block the Chinese advance on Seoul for three days. Fran’s favorite part was the kitty waiting on the other side. I’m pretty sure one of the tour guides feeds it every morning. Fran named it Twitch because its Korean name was too hard to pronounce. These fall leaves are amazing! And I’m not sure why so many places have statues of wildlife in the woods. The deers eyesl reminded us of the deer I saw on the side of the road driving home that one night in Ephraim and i screamed and swerved.
