Dubai 2nd Ward

Today we went to church with the Dubai 2nd Ward (this side of the world they watch general conference next week). The ward meets in a conference room at the Grand Mercure hotel across from the airport. It is an English speaking ward (the Tagalog ward meets in the morning). It was probably the biggest ward we have attended since Washington. The Abu Dhabi Stake includes 7 wards and 3 branches. This is the church's only ecclesiastical area without a mission and proselytizing is prohibited in Middle Eastern countries. Even still, the church is big and growing here. We were able to see a member who was baptized yesterday get confirmed. Fun Fact: President Nelson announced a temple to be built in Dubai in the April 2020 General Conference. This announcement came from following a gracious invitation from the Dubai government to build the temple. I am so glad we were able to go to church today in this ward. It was a great meeting with very friendly people. Fran was able to share her testimony again.
