St. John’s Newfoundland Canada

We spent today in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Newfoundland was a British dominan, but then in 1949 became part of Canada. In St John’s, we walked up to Signal Hill and the historic battery. Our hike to and from had gorgeous views of the ocean and the bay. I loved the picturesque lighthouse (Fort Amherst) lining the very narrow entrance into the bay. We also had views of the nearby Cape Spear, the most easternmost point in Canada and North America (if you don’t count Greenland). We walked around the shops and Jellybean row houses. We ate the Newfoundland delicacy, cod tongue. Not bad, small breaded fish nuggets that are a little more gristley. A lovely, sunny day to spend off ship!
