Melbourne
We arrived down under! Welcome to Melbourne Australia.
We are picking up a small camper van and going to road trip along the coast to Sydney.
Australia is a huge country, about the size of the continental US. However, its population is much less dense with 25 million people opposed to the 330 million in the US. 90 percent of the Australian population lives in just 0.22 per cent of the country’s land area and 87 percent live within 50 kilometres of the coast. More than two-thirds of Australians live in a capital city, with 40 percent of the population being in the two largest cities of Sydney and Melbourne.
Mainland Australia is the world’s largest island but the smallest continent. The country is divided into six states and two territories.
